Lisa Erickson, president and CEO of Medica, is named chair of the Minnesota Council of Health Plans

ST. PAUL, Minn. (Oct. 30, 2025) – The Minnesota Council of Health Plans has elected a new chair of its board of directors.

Lisa Erickson, president and chief executive officer of Medica since 2023, begins her one-year term in 2026.

The Council works to foster collaboration among its nonprofit health plan members. Collectively, Council health plans cover more than 4.6 million Minnesotans. The Council engages diverse stakeholders to promote policies and processes that make health care more effective for everyone.

“It’s an honor to have this opportunity—to collaborate on our shared goal of making health care work better,” Erickson said. “As we come together as nonprofit organizations, our focus is creating more access to high quality, affordable care.”

Erickson holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

The Minnesota Council of Health Plans, established in 1985, is an association of licensed nonprofit health plans. It includes Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, HealthPartners, Hennepin Health, Medica, Sanford Health Plan and UCare.
